2024
A good start to the year.

2023
This weekend (30/9/23) I was fortunate enough to read at the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival. Thanks to Shaun and Mayu for making this happen. A totally enjoyable experience. This year I have had poems published in South 67 and 68. I also enjoyed reading at B'mth Library at the launch of South 67. In June I read at the Harmony Conference at Bournemouth University. Thanks to Nigel Hedges for making this happen.

2022
I have had a further three poems accepted for the 'What Have We Done' anthology edited by Alan Maley, which I'm obviously chuffed about. I have one poem being published in the 'The Frogmore Papers',  which I am also chuffed about, as I really respect the contributers in this fine magazine.
Last year I had poems accepted for South Poetry and was pleased to read them on their Zoom Launch, a really good night.
During the lockdown, I became a regular contributor to Pat Sissons' lunchtime programme on BBC Radio Solent. I became 'famous in my own front room' as Radio Solent's unofficial Poet laureate! In all, I had 41 poems published. You can listen to these on Soundcloud.

In 2019 I published a new collection of verse called 'She Stole My Northern Heart'. Sales were going well until COVID struck!
If you would like to buy a copy of this book, please email me at johnkaypoet@gmail.com and I will send you a signed copy. The cost will be £12 + £2 p&p. A bargain, I hear you say! (See the picture on cover page)
The following review is taken from South Poetry Magazine, Issue 62, October, 2020.
"In this book John writes about people in a bemused and often humorous way, using people's idiosyncrasies and bad behaviour to write honed, sometimes tragic poems leavened with wit and wry acceptance. If you like your poems full of truth and with a touch of earthiness you will enjoy this collection."
